The time. It has flown past.

I have about... fifteen days to figure out if I'm doing NaNo or not? I wanted to. Was really gung-ho-guns about it. Then. I dunno. A whole month slipped by without me thinking about it at all and I got a NaNo e-mail about a meeting at Capital Ale. I know I can pump out an outline, maybe do a few personality sections for characters that I have no standard profile on, but... I feel like I need a bit more complexity in my writing, in my plotting, and something more complicated than my original plot.
Goddamnit Dresden Files. Your connecting logic I can't ever truly follow until it's spelled out for me -yet when a mysterious person from previous volumes shows up nameless I can almost always snap my fingers and go 'Oooh, probably that guy/girl from that time' and be right- makes me want to try it myself. But I'm bad at it. :[
Very bad.
*crosses fingers* Either way. The five W's and H will help me \o/ Just gotta get my notebook that I started all of this in during high summer... I actually had a launching point from there.
And I need to back up all my stuff to my external HD sooner rather than later so I can reformat. I told myself I would do it before my new job started, and that's been pushed back to at least mid-November. No telling what's up with that, but if I start NaNo, I won't have time for that shit. B| Like. At all.
And Renee's profile is looming over me. I think I have more trepidation about doing her back story than anyone else. The school keeps changing as I mold my ideas about how everyone meets and making things more realistic. Or as realistic as they can get when you have Mercenary schools that are accredited. >_> Meh.

Date: 2010-10-16 09:26 pm (UTC)But it'll get your story going, at least. Even if you don't finish, you'll have more than you have now.
Why is it so late?

Date: 2010-10-16 10:16 pm (UTC)Aa, true. Mostly it's stalled because I'm thinking about the world still. I've been tweaking it constantly ever since I started playing Blaine. So... for the past year ... =__=
Well, lots of stuff going on on their end. *shruugs* I'm just wondering if it'll get pushed backt o December. Second half of november is holiday time =o=

Maybe they want you there in time for the holidays.

Date: 2010-10-16 11:54 pm (UTC)I have been though. =| But every time the base of it changes, I get a new set of problems that I work out. Then it seems fine aaaand then it changes again and I work it out. So now that I think I'm at the final part, it's basically just the characters and plot I have to worry about.
That'd be nice, but very odd. Considering.

Date: 2010-10-17 12:00 am (UTC)Here's what it said about where we're being dropped off: The HuffPost Sanity Bus will drop you off at RFK Stadium in Washington DC. At RFK Stadium, you can easily take the DC Metro to the National Mall on either the Orange Line or the Blue Line from Stadium-Armory Station.
Orange Line: From Stadium-Armory Station, take the Orange Line 4 stops to Federal Center SW, get out and walk two blocks north on 3rd Street to the Mall.
Blue Line: From Stadium-Armory Station, take the Blue Line 4 stops to Federal Center SW
And it says for leaving: After the rally, you are responsible for getting back to RFK Stadium to board the return bus to New York City. You can take either the Orange Line or the Blue Line back to Stadium-Armory Station near RFK Stadium. You can get these lines at the following stations, depending on where you exit the National Mall after the rally:
* Federal Center SW at 3rd and D Streets, SW
* L’Enfant Plaza at Maryland Avenue and 7th Street, SW
* Smithsonian at 12th Street on the Mall, SW
* Federal Triangle along 12th Street between Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues, NW
You must be back at RFK Stadium by 4:00pm to ensure a ride back to New York City.
So yeah. D8
Why do you keep changing the base? :V Also, does that mean you can go full speed ahead now that you have the final part? Characters and plot is a pretty big part.

Date: 2010-10-17 12:11 am (UTC)The basics of the world. Like how I was rambling to you about if it was government or illegal organization. Those are big things that change a lot about the story depending on which point of view it is. Determines how the characters are received by other people, how they act, their motives, ect. And then, since this is technically a sequel to a story I never finished, I have to determine events from the past. How they met, how that shaped relationships in the 'present'. Yadda. So I'm doing all of that in snippets and as I tweak one thing, others fall in place or I have to jiggle others around to fit or take them out all together.

Date: 2010-10-17 12:15 am (UTC)She was driving, but then she heard about the bus. :/
I get you. Would doing NaNo help that?

Date: 2010-10-17 12:28 am (UTC)XD;; Weellll. I'd opt for the bus, if I knew I'd actually make it. When do they actually LEAVE for DC? I'd hope not at the last damn minute or anything.
It helped me last time. But I think it'd do a lot more this time around, even if I'm only doing a side story.

Date: 2010-10-17 12:38 am (UTC)Oh wait, I can't read. We're getting in DC at 11 am, not 12.
She didn't want to have to deal with parking or finding a place to sleep. I don't know when they leave, probably at 4:30 or something. I know the trip to DC is from 6 am to 11 am, and they want us to be in Queens by 5:30, so probs a half hour. Either way 5 hours sounds RECOCKULOUSLY long to me.
Go go go for it.
