He asked Hirako again –making sure Hiyori was nowhere around- and received the same shrug, but then he smiled –that wide, ultra creepy one that reminded him of the 3rd Division Taichou- and said, "Sure, if you can get him in here."
Ichigo didn't like the way that sounded, but he took the offer and went off to find Rukia. Of course, because he was looking for her, he couldn't find the short little brat anywhere. Instead, he found Renji, and Renji was as good as anybody to tell him what was going on. He brought him back to the seemingly empty lot and through tons of cursing, wildly flaring reiatsu, and several stabs with Zangetsu, pried open the door he knew was there and let them both in.
It wasn't until much, much later that Ichigo realized he should have just talked to Renji at his house or even at fucking school, for that matter… but it was far too late by that time…
They descended the stairs to see an amused Hirako looking at the panting Ichigo. "Why didn't you open the door?!"
Hirako gave that shrug again and laid down a card. Mashiro laughed, dropped her last pair on the table. "I win!"
Hirako sighed and gathered them up to shuffle as she bounced away to take a good look at Renji. "Oooo! Red hair! Together, we make Christmas!" she jumped onto her tiptoes and still barely reached his shoulder. "Lean down!" she demanded, and pulled his shoulder. He blinked as he was yanked down and she smiled. "Alright, visit's over. Got all the info I wanted out of you," Ichigo barked, giving Renji a shove towards the door.
Renji batted at the hand and snarled a little. "You asked! Don't get all pushy!" but he moved up the stairs all the same.
Ichigo's final kick missed as Renji stepped to the side. "Do ya have to be such a horny asshole?! I have ta live here!"
"What da hell you talkin' about?!" Renji snapped back.
"Yadomaru!"

"That's what 'im talkin' about!"
Renji laughed, letting his hand rest on Zabimaru's hilt as he shifted his weight and raised his chin. "Just mad cus ya didn't get any."
"Shut up!" Ichigo roared, his hand flying back to Zangetsu. "It ain't that! Just now I gotta deal with fuckin-"
"-my left overs?"
"That's disgusting!" Ichigo growled, turning back to the door. "You ain't gotta deal with Kensei! Or fucking Hirako whose gonna be teasing the bastard!"
Renji laughed. "Nope!" he added cheerfully. Waving he sneered, "Have fun getting yer ass kicked by a girl!"
"Fuck you!"
"Lisa already did!" Renji shouted right before the door slammed shut in his face. Laughing even louder, Renji sauntered away. If he had learned anything, it was that at least one Vaizard knew how to give a proper welcome gift.
