Well, I wanted a book list? This one is something else to tack on?

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Strike out the books you have no intention of ever reading, or were forced to read at school and hated.
5) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read less than 6 and force books upon them.

Well, you have to realize that I have three years of English Lit college major in there and probably a quarter of that was required reading for that. And then some more of them were High School reading.

I noticed that they forgot a LOT on there. I didn't see "Cold Sassy Tree" or any of Nathaniel Hawthorne's works. Or Ray Bradbury's.. >/

Aa yeah... The English lit part.

Well, I know Ray Bradbury by name but can't remember for the life of me why he's important or anything.

It was about a dystopian future where books are outlawed and Firemen, instead of putting fires out, were in charge of finding rebels, killing or arresting them and burning their books.

The story is about a Fireman who somehow gets hold of a book and reads it and sees how corrupt the gov't is. The title is in reference to the temperature at which books burn.

Aaa, that's what I thought. I 'read' that one! Books on tape from when I was working at Wachovia and typing! I thought that was really interesting!

Nothing wrong with books on tape.

My mum uses them bunches when she drives the 7 hour drive down here. Down here at Cracker Barrel Restaurants/Stores, you can buy used audiobooks and trade them in at any other Cracker Barrel you stop at.
