New beginnings...

It’s story time everyone. Once again, no lj-cut.

So. There’s this guy, Ed, who used to work with our company. He quit. Got another job. All well and good, but then he got fired from that job for the same reason why he got demoted at ours. No pity for him. Whatever.

He puts his resume up on Craig’s List, and someone offered him a job. It was an accounting job that paid 85 bucks an hour AND he could only work a maximum of 5 hours a day. He got to work from home, all he needed was a laptop and Quicken Books. Sounds nice and cushy, especially since he has no accounting experience.

Anyway, he needs to go buy his equipment, so they send him two money orders, 1500 each for a total of 3000 dollars. All he needed to do was cash it in and send it to Nigeria. So, he deposits it in the bank, waits for it to clear. It clears and he waits a few days, then Western Union transfers the money over to the guy in Nigeria.

The guy calls him up and is like, yeah we got it, but it wasn’t enough! I’m sending you two more 1500 money orders to send. Your equipment will be shipped out this week! You’ll be getting it in the mail soon!

Oh. You guys have no idea how much I wish that story was a lie... If it is, my co-worker who is friends with Ed, is the best damn liar/story-teller ever. But all the people who knew him on the job shook their heads and were like, "Damn. that shit sounds JUST. LIKE. HIM."

Alright, so... I got my 6 month review. Communicate more. That's basically all of what it came down to. I just don't like e-mail my progress on everything and prefer to just e-mail when I'm done. If I don't say anything in an hour, okay, poke me. 's what I do, cus I know how I hate to be harassed about doing stuff. BUT, I guess I'll just have to suck it up and e-mail more. Hate the spam.

On that note, this guy has been trying to recruit me for his company. I'm pretty sure, as a programmer, I would get paid more. Bad thing is, he's looking for someone who does Java and C#. I HATE both of those languages/scripts. HATE them, and have since purged most, if not all of my knowledge of them out. I wouldn't mind the money, but I 1. like my current job, mostly; 2. don't want to move up into a job I'll hate going to every day.

Geez. Can't I at least make it to my yearly review or something? But who knows if a better chance will come around? ECPI still sends me those job opportunity e-mails, and if all else fails, they'll help me find another job like they helped me with this one. *whistles*

Aaaaand not work related [or at least business work] I have almost finish that damn picture I started inking last week. The hand took me ALL night. No idea why. I was doing other stuff, but still. SLOW. The pocket, neck, and right side of the hair were done, and the earrings/clip. What's left is... the jacket zippers/pockets, which are easy enough if I light a fire under my ass. Then the pants zipper and the chain going from his belt to his pocket. THAT is going to kill me softly, I'm sure.

Then. The. FUR. It's a huge gap in the picture XD His hood and his sleeve cuffs are missing because the fur hasn't been draw in. Ehehe >_> I cry at the idea of try to COLOR his monstrosity. the flat color should be easy. If I can get the hang of cell shading, that'll be okay, too... but I want the metal to SHINE and I fail at that. Yeah. I'm sad. Once all my lines are inked in and I can paintbucket without turning the whole screen blue, I think I might squee. 8D

Man, this just royally sucks. Something good happens:

Been getting on the comp and not fucking around so much, which means that the picture I've been inking is almost done. It's mostly little details that are left. Chain on his belt. Adding pockets. Finishing the hair. The only huge thing is the fur which lines his sleeves and his neck/hood. I'm still debating on how I want to handle that.

Bad thing:

I overslept for work but, like, 2 hours. I can get there anywhere between 8 and 9, 9 being on the late side. I woke up at 9:45. =_= I have NO idea what is up with me. After Otakon, I've been having the hardest time getting up. I don't want to resort to having two alarm clocks, but the one on my cell just isn't making a dent. I didn't hear that bitch go off at all. *cries* This is the second time it's happened in the past month and it just chafes me. Having a work-a-holic for a boss is the worst, because they come in early, stay late, and you slip up and hsow you're human and you feel like you're on thin ice. *siiiighs*

I think working out Tuesday-Friday might do something. Staying up til 5 am working on said picture. Sleeping until 4pm-ish because I was annoyed at being continuously being called for no reason to get out of bed. Go out with Nana. Pick up shirts. Go to Pan's where I get molested. Stay out until about 3, come home. Sleep. Get up at 9am to cut the grass. Wash hair. Go to Pan's. Eat at Kevin's mom's. Come home. Ink some more. Go to sleep at 12:45ish. I suppose I should have given up at 11:30 and just slept....... but I was on a roll for inking, and I have to strike while the motivation is hot... man. I just fail.

Well, to be fair, and since everyone who is going to Otakon has access to my LJ sometime before we leave next week, I shall be using this method for the 4 extra bed spaces [since we have two rooms].

I will pick a number between 1 and 50 and comment to this post with one of my unpaid RP accounts [Hinata, most likely]. It will show the date it was posted, and it will be un-editable cus unpaid accounts are fail. All comments with be SCREENED.

Oh. Random Fun story. My co-worked was on the phone calling one of the techs and we overheard what he was saying:

"Hey! So, funny story. I was walking around the office with your performance review in my hand, and I was walking by the shredder box and, for some reason, slipped your review in there. Yes. The signed one. 8D So uh, can you sign another one for me and fax it in? Thanks~!"

Lindsey and I lawled.

I hope that it doesn't decide to storm every goddamn night this week. I have to get this photoshop copy done of the kids' shirt done by Saturday morning. Every time I get home and try to settle in to do it, my interwebsz FAIL or it starts THUNDERING. It would be okay except the damn thing doesn't enlarge well, so I just have to make it big to begin with. All the work I did before is for naught. =_= Which is a pain. I don't know how to install more fonts in photoshop, though downloading them is fine. They're about to get whatever the hell font I have instead of the one I used. WTF does Paint have more fonts built in than Photoshop? Someone explain that to me.

And work yesterday kicked my ASS. I swear I worked for at least 9 hours. All those e-mails. Changing assets. Adding users. *dies* I still have 1/3 of the spreadsheet left to attempt to e-mail. But we're down to 124 instead of 150. Woooo... =_=

If you're so organized, do it yourself. It'll only take a minute longer than writing out the e-mail to tell me to do it.

I have a list of stuff to do. I'm doing it. Sorry you can't see it, but no doubt when you do you'll ask me to add the goddamn notes. I hate notes. Just another way to check up on us. And then when I AM doing something, you come over and aggravate my ADD do I forget what I was doing.

No. I don't want to write down everything you say. Half of what you say is redundant and all these 'procedures' just slow down the process. I don't need another check back to know I called someone for their order. I wrote it ON the order and the order is in a folder on my desk in chronological order of when I called them. With notes on the sheet. If it's not in my folder, I don't care. I'm not going to go and check to see if my co-worker is calling her sites. That's stupid. We'll find out when we get angry calls about why no one told them their order was coming.

And if you use these new fangled check-boxes to send me e-mails about why I haven't called someone yet [which I know you will] I'm going to get really annoyed. The calls are getting done. No one is complaining except the stick-up-the-ass POCs who were already testy, and I just shove them off on the TPOC. That's why they get paid much more than I do and have Project Management Degree/certification thingies.

So all in all. Stop being note nazi. Sometimes it's good to have them, most of the time they suck for me. Stop adding check boxes. Five check boxes later you've added a minute to each of the 20 orders we do a day, not to mention the notes which you want to have the same for every one, thus I have to go and find one of the notes just to copy and paste it into your precious notes.

Conclusion: I hate notes. I hate checkboxes. They can die in a fire.

Too bad I was busy with work almost all day and still didn't get much done on anything.

Naruto makes me facepalm and Bleach wasn't out yet before I got swamped.

That secret on rp_s on the 3rd makes me wonder if it's talking about me. Seems so relevant to everything that happened. I can't say I haven't changed, but work stresses me a bit, so I'm even more curt than normal.

*flops around* Or maybe I just think too highly of myself. I'd rather not have anything to do with such a failtastic place if I can help it. 's probably why no one links me to things; other than the fact I'm never here to be linked; =_=

Is Otakon here yet? I need a distraction.

Today, we went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg for Employee Day at my job.

I went on roller coasters. Realized that, while before, I just wanted an excuse not to ride on them, now I really DO get a little motion sick. Fail.

Had Lunch with co-workers. 50/50 good to bad ratio.

Spent about 4 hours with one of my co-workers and his wife that I get along with. 90/10 Good to bad.

Went into the bird aviary and was used as a human salt lick by one overly friendly bird. 100% hilarious.

Anything else after that? Totally moot cus that made my day.

I have next Thursday and Friday off..

Thank kami-sama... I'm going to die...

I still eat it though.

Edit: Oh... man! Tokyopop's been picking up old ADV stuff. YOUR AND MY SECRET IS COMING OUT AGAIN. I'm so tempted to pick it up, it was hilarious.
