Well, after the cheese that was FMwS, I decided to go the shounen route in order not to die. So, here's recounting the first half of the series: We met most of the billions of people in the opening, we have the subterfuge going on, there's the 'putting the things most important to you on the line', and someone's already died. Yeah, I'm serious. By episode 8, someone's died. FMwS with its happy ending, this is not.
I had been told that this show, up until the middle or so, was traditional shounen fair. Man, they were right. 'Tis nice to look at, and since I'm not put off quickly on a series I believe is worth it, I'll stick around until the very end... I've already spoiled myself partially anyway, and I blame that on the Mai Hime : My Reason : Spiritfall video I saw at Otakon. It really made me want to watch the series after seeing it. All I have to say is that the characters I claim usually die, and since I already know one of them is going to, I claimed him. Why the hell not?
Either way, Mai Hime is pretty good so far. I'm just hoping that it really does have lots of twists at the end. Of course, the spoilers I've seen in that video make it obvious there are, but I'm not sure how twisty they'll be since I know the outcome. ::sighs::
As a side note, I finally hooked up Raito-kun! Yes, my comp has made a triumphant return and is hooked up to the internet via wireless USB port modem! ::cheers:: My mother's is directly connected. Either way, now I can watch all my anime in piece, in my room, without chibi chibi crashing in and demanding to sit on my lap and asking questions a mile per minute because she doesn't understand what they're saying or why people are transforming or just 'Why?' in general. I love being able to lock my room door...
Owari. Kageisuke. Aaa, Tate-kun, when will you just give up and realize you like Mai already, na?
