I never got to finish my rant on FMwS... so i'm going to talk about the ending now...
Well, the ending to Full Moon wasn't all angsty like I though it would be. I mean, it is kinda magical girly, but I didn't expect the uber happy ending... I mean, this show was about a girl who was supposed to have a year to live. I full expected her to die in the end with tears and everything. But nope, they just had to make it happy. ::sighs::
I think one of the worse things that happened was when Takuto took the Flower of forgetfullness and during Full Moon's last concert went like 'Who am I? Why am I here?' Meroko cried a little, but she answered 'Your name is Takuto. You're here to make new memories.' He then went 'Oh. Hey, even though I haven't heard this song before, she's really good, isn't she?' That was kinda 'gurk' to me. It was sad watching Takuto turn into a ghost, too, though. Since he regained his memories, which meant he started calling Wakaouji-sensei Keiichi [and freaked me out], he turned into a ghost because he was now linked to the human world. Even after he took that damn flower he still turned into a ghost. ::sighs:: Then they did the whole 'Because you showed such compassion and acted on your beliefs' thing and Meroko turned into an Angel. We didn't find out what happened to Takuto until later.
Mitsuki had the surgery, but she almost died until Takuto gave up his life for her. After it, when she woke up after being unconcious for 24 hours, her eyes opened wide and she looked around in that kind of horror stricken way because she'd just had a dream where she had nearly fallen while chasing after Eichi, but Meroko and Takuto stopped her fall. Then, they started to walk away and her feet were frozen to the ground and she couldn't follow them. When she woke, she did that look around thing, then started to cry. When she got home, she stared at the picture of her, Takuto, and Meroko in their plushie forms. Izumi and Johnathan looked at her a while, but she couldn't see them. Izumi explained why, but I forget/didn't pay close enough attention. He also said they'd probably never see Meroko or Takuto again. Of course, he was only partially right, because we got to see them, but he didn't.
After the talk with the surpreme ruler lady, Takuto got another chance as a human, but couldn't remember anything between the two years he 'died' in the accident and then. He still had that little stuffed cat strap Mitsuki bought him though. Mitsuki still had the one she gave to Meroko, but I have no idea how she got it back =_=. It suddenly flew from her hands and she chased after it choking out 'Meroko! Meroko!' until she ran all the way to the crossing where Takuto was. She shouted up at Meroko, who she saw for a brief moment as an Angel, before shouting out in a full voice 'Takuto!' and he turned around. It was one of those moments. Cute, sweet, endearing and so shoujo-y I almost choked.
The thing that pissed me off the most was that Meroko got the short end of the stick... She loved Izumi, but he didn't believe her and got stuck with Takuto. She fell in love with Takuto, but he didn't love her, which she was fine with, but fell in love with Mitsuki. Meroko couldn't be upset with Mitsuki, so she just wished for their happiness and just disappeared. I mean, come ON. I hope the manga doesn't do something like this. I mean, I really want someone to die. This who series was about death and they just managed to play it off as a happy ending. ::annoyed:: Even though I hate to get so attached to a character and have them die, I'd rather have that than a sugary ending. I really am not a fan of fluff... Maybe warm hearted goodness, but not utter cheese. ::sighs::
Anyway. Rant's over. I'm moving on... To the Shin Angyo Onshi movie! Then Mai Hime! ::cheers::
