People were giving him looks as he waalked down the halls. Maybe it had something to do with the flowery pink thing -as some assholes called it- he had drapped over his shoulders. A few of those lookers on stopped him while chuckling out, 'Hey? Which bet did you lose, Abarai?' and he promptly punched them in the face. Nobody would ever dare anyone to wear something this damn good. Especially him. It even matched his fucking hair, be damned if they liked it or not.
So as he continued to walk down the halls and ignore the snickering -though that was hard, and his fist was itching inside of the fold of his yukata- he wandered over to Rukia's cell to show his face. The way her eyes sparked just a little and the small smile that curved her lips just a bit at his outfit was enough of a reason to wear it. Besides. He gave a sniff at her burst of laughter. He DID look damn good in it.

It was because no matter what everyone told him, he was gonna do what he thought was right. He would do it to save her, because he didn't just owe her his life. If he had died, everyone would have been okay. Even though they would have been sad, even though they might have cried for him, life would have went on without him. But with Yuzu, his little sister, who cooked the meals, did everything around the house, there would never be an excuse to let her die. For Karin, his little tomboy of a sister, who was just like him but had so much more to live for, he could not give any kind of reason for her to die. Even his crazy-as-hell father needed to live, because he could never take care of Yuzu and Karin by himself.
Ichigo had to save Rukia. Not just for himself. She wasn't just his friend. She was *everyone* at school's friend. Even if they say they don't remember her, just a little bit of each of the others is gone, and he can't stand the fact that it's his fault. So he goes to get her back because it's what he thinks, KNOWS, is right and be damned if someone else tells him he's wrong. cus he wasn't listening...
