Taxes are done.

Contemplating Captain John Hart.

Let's hope I get up in enough time to go for a walk. Fucking cold.

Reading the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act.

Need to work on that job application... Where do they even sell Dickies Brand Long Sleeve Button-Up Work Shirts, Ben Davis Original Brand 50/50 Heavy Weight Twill Pants, and Vasque Summit Boots?

Time for google...

Someone come with me D8! ROAD TRIP!
kageisuke: Mitani from Hikaru no Go (Do a H-H-Happy Dance!)
When I got off of work today, I went outside and was so blissfully happy. The temperature was so NICE. It's, what? Ninety-two degrees outside. The humidity isn't so bad. I nearly cried my relief. Yesterday was one-hundred and five degrees. 105. The day before that was just as bad. 103 maybe? After three days of over 100 degree weather and VA's shitty humidity, everyone was so grateful for NORMAL hot weather we talked about it all day.

Here's to not suffering in sweltering heat \o

But I actually woke up last night because it was too hot. That's telling you something, when I WAKE UP because it's too damn hot. Not a first, but it's hella rare.

And in other news, my Senator. Oh, lol. I really do like my senators. Webb made a big co/ed post in the paper about how affirmative action and minority programs to help those in need weren't helping the people who are supposed to be helped by it [black people] and is turning into a big[ger] pot of reverse racism against whites. *strokes the man* While it isn't that simple, what he wrote nor the topic itself, I give him a thumbs up. I agree in part, and disagree on a few things, but I wish people could talk about it without being large douche nozzles about it. And don't get me started on that shitty [conservative] blogger who totally disregarded the message of that [black] woman who was telling the NAACP that we need to overcome and do the right thing. Way to be the epitome of why so many minorities are distrustful of white people. It's those douchebaggy things that stick with them, not the nice things.

Maybe I can move to Britain? Their economy will hold up right? Euro is strong right? Too bad I won't ever get a proper British accent. Black people with British accents are awesome. White people, only so-so. =o= Lawl. I kid. *fuels the race fire in bad taste*
kageisuke: Mitani from Hikaru no Go (Do not collect 200 dollars. You fail.)
I had a bunch of things to talk about... I think most of it has to do with reading the paper and how shit sucks and if there's any good news it's stuff I don't care about... Or how I see a cop every day now -or at least the car- whenever I leave my house. I used to go, like, 3 weeks without seeing one. What the hell is up with the county and having cops everywhere? I'd feel more secure if... I knew wtf they were doing and if I didn't see them just loitering in places waiting to give people speeding tickets just to try and pay their wages. Times are tough, but I can't afford a speeding ticket, sorry.

That and work as been boring as sin. I swear. I'm glad I got 5 days this week, but... They called me to work the past two days, when the weather was awesome and I was going to go bike riding while everyone was at work. Now, I finally get my day off, but it's supposed to RAIN all day. GD you weather. GDU.

But, on a positive note, boring work means drawing. I miss drawing. .__.

Huge images under here )

I might bring my sketchbooks and go to the bookstore for a few hours tomorrow...... instead of staying on the computer all day.... yeah, that sounds good... Oh god how my drawing skills have suffered...

OH OH OH. And I'm going to scar you all with this. No cut 8D

Sometimes, I'm glad I work where I do because I keep up better on my local news now than I ever did before.

I was reading in the paper today during my lunch that there was some study about abstinence education and its effects yadda yadda about preventing unwanted pregnancies and spreading disease. I feel like... it was a red herring. They said that a great percentage waited to have sex after having the class but...

...that doesn't actually answer the question of does it prevent unwanted pregnancies or spread of disease. Is it delaying the inevitable accident? Or the supposed 2 years they wait enough to give them the maturity to realize they don't want a baby/disease. I guess they'll find out about condoms and the pill and stuff other ways -lol their peers- but I never thought sex education was aabout 'Preventing them from having sex' as it was about 'Preventing them from contracting nastiesnd getting knocked up when they have sex'.

Maybe I missed the entire point of sex education class...

Watching the State of the Union address.

I could SEE the line running down the left side of the room... Republicans. Conservative Demoncrats. Democrats. Watch who claps when certain things are said. I had a good laugh... I'd add Liberal Republicans, but that just seems like an oxymoron...

Lawl. Obama is still a great speaker, but I hope he does what he said he'll do. If not. *whistles and watches those infamous polls plummet down further*

Oh, and the Republican response? \o/ Yay McDonnell. *waves the Commonwealth flag* If I had voted, I would have voted for you \o *still no complaints because I came out for the better anyway*

Oh, and you know what? The SotU wouldn't have been so long if they hadn't clapped after every. goddamn. thing. OMG STFU. That totally could have been cut down by 20 minutes if people didn't clap all the time. THOUGH I still laugh when he pointed out Michelle.

Obama: And I would like to thank my Wife, Michelle Obama for *insert whatever it was here*
Everyone: *claps*
Obama: =D
Michelle: e__e
Obama: =DD
Michelle: e___e
Obama: She's shy 8D
Michelle: *probably would have flicked him off if she wasn't, you know, first Lady*
Everyone: *claps and laughs*
Michelle: *makes gestures and mouths 'Sit Down'*

Lawl. He's gonna get it later for that 8D

First, something I yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] havocmangawip that is hilarious.

Dear Pat Robertson,

I know that you know that all press is good press, so I appreciate the shout-out. And you make God look like a big mean bully who kicks people when they are down, so I'm all over that action.

But when you say that Haiti has made a pact with me, it is totally humiliating. I may be evil incarnate, but I'm no welcher. The way you put it, making a deal with me leaves folks desperate and impoverished.

Sure, in the afterlife, but when I strike bargains with people, they first get something here on earth -- glamour, beauty, talent, wealth, fame, glory, a golden fiddle. Those Haitians have nothing, and I mean nothing. And that was before the earthquake. Haven't you seen "Crossroads"? Or "Damn Yankees"?

If I had a thing going with Haiti, there'd be lots of banks, skyscrapers, SUVs, exclusive night clubs, Botox -- that kind of thing. An 80 percent poverty rate is so not my style. Nothing against it -- I'm just saying: Not how I roll.

You're doing great work, Pat, and I don't want to clip your wings -- just, come on, you're making me look bad. And not the good kind of bad. Keep blaming God. That's working. But leave me out of it, please. Or we may need to renegotiate your own contract.

Best, Satan

My mother laughed and was like, 'Okaaaay.'

Eastern Promises. I finally got to see it. Mmm, Viggo. And tattoos. I like how it didn't end with them together. I'm tired of those stupid half-asses romance stories thrown in for... whatever reason they have. They did have that attraction thing going on, but hay. He had the bad boy thing going. *shrugs*

Aaaand, my hours at work have been cuuuuutttt. *sobs into my hands* And I have to find new car insurance by June. AND just, another job in general. Don't even know what to do for that, but I need to seriously start searching, right?

My comp decided to be an ass, so I'm on chibi's netbook at mother's. If I'm lucky, my desktop will start up properly when I go home tonight and it was just overheating... even though the green light wasn't on when I started it last time. Srsly, that would suck if it was dead. Bad enough my paid account expired.

And RP!S today? Seriously, too much spare time. Find a better hobby. Please. That whole 'verified comm stealers' part RIGHT before using my post that just said it was all a communication fail? Reading comprehension. Someone lacks it.

Oh, and Reid's slip up? Hilarious. Why? Because it's true. Jump on him all you like, cus someone had to say SOMETHING and be offended, but we all know it's the truth. This political correctness is going to choke the hell out of us.

Note: Why do they always wait until the last minute to send out your W-2? Just because it's DUE on the 31st of January doesn't mean WAIT that long. Same for doing your taxes. Don't wait until the 15th. GD we're a procrastinating country.

One: Fuck my cramps. I knew it would happen during the holidays. :|

Two: A Bill to lower the volume on commercials.

I, for one, think it's sad that we can even make such a bill. But there is the side of me that wishes this could be done immediately. I don't mind commercials. I don't pay attention to them half the time anyway. I wander to get a snack. Bathroom break. Talk with my mother, ect. When I do pay attention, it's because they're hilarious. What I don't like is that they are ricockulously loud and when my mother is trying to sleep and it BLASTS out, I more often than not mute the TV. How effective is your commercial if I'm not listening OR watching it? I wish they could have done this electively on their own.

And this made me laugh. On the run and updating Facebook. I don't know how it works in the UK, but... do IP addresses work differently over there? They can't get his general location from that? Or is he going via proxy and stuff? *amused anyway*

I've been reading [oh snap] but nothing from my not forgotten book list XD I saw this book on the shelf and thought, 'Oh, that looks good,' and went to the library to borrow it. I flew through Magic to the Bone by Devon Monk and enjoyed it. It has that same kind of sense of humor than L.K. Hamilton has, but the plot is different, main character is still a chick, but she isn't in denial; thank kami. As soon as I finish these last 15 pages of the second book, I'm going to sleep before these tylenol wear off. 10-6:30 tomorrow is going to SUCK some major donkey balls.

*in bed by 9:30*
kageisuke: Mitani from Hikaru no Go (I'm so happy because I'm a gu-)
I never saw HP: HPB in iMAX like I wanted to. Chalk it up to ten dollars for one movie just not being fiscally responsible. And now it's out on DVD. ~___~

And why do people keep calling it.... 'climate-gate'. What do gates have to do with it. I never knew why it was called watergate, either. Obviously I need to research more.

On the issue though, I've been of two minds about it. There's one: Humans like to fuck up things and have been doing so for millenia. It's not that inconceivable that we ruined the atmosphere by being douches and not curbing how much poison we put into the place we live, whether ignorantly or purposefully for greed purposes. [Whatever happened to that hole in the o-zone layer?] And then there's two: we're one species, and while we've done a lot to change our environment to suit us, are we so bigheaded to think we changed the world on our own? That the earth isn't going on spinning around as usual and we have nothing to do with what happens as far as climate?

Eh. *shrugs* Though a lot of people pointing fingers at Al Gore for getting the hype up about global warming and us being the blame, did he know it wasn't real? You'd think, 'presidential candidate should know what for, eh?' but he might not have known about the lies either. I haven't seen any proof in those e-mails that he knew -though someone feel free to correct me- so he might have more egg on his face than the rest of us anyhow. How many of those scientists didn't want it to be known that nothing was really wrong because they might lose funding? Hrmmm.

Oh well.

Another thing that amuses me isn't Tiger Wood's situation, but the fact all of these 'experts' and people 'in the know' come out of nowhere to try and give him advice. Leave the man alone. He doesn't owe any of us an explanation. Good lord, he has enough shit to deal with without completely uninvolved people breathing down his neck for facts that aren't any of their business.

My real question is, are police reports, mugshots, ect, SUPPOSED to be on public record? How do reporters and such get that information? Informants? Do they just go to the station/library and browse through mugshots? Do they get sold to the highest bidder? What is it? Seems like an invasion of privacy to me, especially if it happened on your own private property.
kageisuke: Mitani from Hikaru no Go (You'd never know he was a sociopath...!)
More Health Care stuff /o/ *shoots myself*

There's just a lot of things that I wish could/would be changed and things I think shouldn't be changed. Long winded complaining/thinking under here )
kageisuke: Mitani from Hikaru no Go (Not your ordinary kindergarden rhyme...)
Fuuuubaaaar.

I know I can't be the only person who's tired of hearing about the health care bill. Or anything about health care in general. Personally, even though I'm totally for reform, I think this is going to fail hard core. Their intentions are [supposedly] good, but I think they're going about it wrong.

And by wrong I mean doing it too damn fast.

I've been reading the paper, and you know, one person had this idea. I think he based it off of the Swiss health care plan? Who knows. But don't make companies pay for a person's health care. Have it so that each individual person/families, go and buy their own health care. Then instead of corporations getting the tax credit for giving their employees, the citizens get it because they're the ones who bought it. I think that's a pretty decent idea, or at least to me.

Everyone is talking about making it competitive and yadda yadda, I think that would be the most competitive. Especially if people could shop across state lines for care. You can get your care from anyone in the nation. There would be a bajillion different plans [not that there aren't now e__e] and you could find one that fits you perfectly. It'd be like shopping for car insurance.

Then it would be all on that person to find insurance for themselves. And you know, TECHNICALLY, since that big expense isn't being paid for by the companies anymore, they should be able to pay their employees more. [I doubt they would. Straight into their profit margin get] And small businesses without insurance, well... It would stay the same for them. Their employees had to go buy their own anyway, but now they'd have better options.

I dunno. I'm just regurgitating what I read and trying to make sense of it, but I guarantee that whatever they're trying to do now is going through so fast that there are bounds of extras snuck in there [like the stimulus] and some things have loopholes, regulations are too biased against [and for] certain people.

*shrugs* Aa well. It'll happen. Perhaps I'll write to my senators. I doubt I'd get a response, but fff. What would they say besides 'We're glad you're following the debate, and we will give all ideas their due time on the floor of the Senate =D'.

Stimulus package. Pt deux. *twitches* We'll see what the hell the spending is going for.

Regulate credit card industry Fuck yes. Pls. I only have one credit card. My limit is 500 dollars. Yeah. That's it. They keep trying to increase my limit, and I keep soundly rejecting them =D

I do plan on changing cards to one with points and shit on it [since I have to pay that damn fee every year anyway] and upping my limit to 1000 dollars. But if they do shit like increasing my interest to 22% with no rhyme nor reason, fuck them. =D I'll keep my 500 dollars limit and pay it off every month as usual. I'll happily be a deadbeat~

And How to spend 500$

If I ever got it [that last stimulus check I got was only 300 dollars. I didn't even get the 600. Thanks a lot =o=] I would buy that flat panel monitor I've been saving up for and may the other half of my car insurance. \o.

With all of these layoffs and just... total eco-failures, how many people can still go to Otakon this year?

Because I get these things from Kris, they always have the democratic political lean... but it's hilarious for everyone until the end. 8D; Maybe funny in a bad way >_>

I was listening to my coworkers talk about how socialism wasn't the way the country should go and how it was a step back and against what all those people fought for and wondered a few things:

1. Why is demanding government support -which I'm helping to pay for- bad when other's shitty decisions who I have little or no control over put me out?
2. Do capitalism and equality even belong in the same sentence? They seem to contradict one another on the most basic levels. How can you want the cream to rise to the top and yet want everyone to be equal? Or are they just saying everyone should have an equal opportunity? Because that shit isn't true and hasn't been since this country began.
3. Why is capitalism so much better? I've heard the 'yay progress! yay competition!' shit over and over. What ELSE is there? That can't be it.

Lawl~
